We are happy to announce that we have been given the go ahead to run Tower Tours at St Peter’s Church for the 2024 Vintage Festival.
The Tours are planned to run from 9am to 3pm on festival day, Saturday 18th May, and offer a rare opportunity to take the 111 spiral steps to the top of the turrets on Northamptonshire’s tallest church spire. Although there is a break halfway up at the bell ringing chamber, the steps are steep with limited headroom in places so only persons who are in good health need consider taking the trip. Tours will last 30 minutes and are open to adults and children from aged 8, but be aware a reasonable level of fitness is required. Each tour will be led by a knowledgeable volunteer guide who will provide a fascinating insight into the history of the church, the tower and the recent repair works. Everyone who makes the journey up and down the tower will receive a certificate to say they have been there!
