Oundle Classic Bike Rally is part of the fabulous Oundle Vintage Festival giving you a chance show off your treasured bike, enjoy the many other attractions of the festival, and go for ride. All you need is a pre 2010 bike whether its pampered and restored, or recently dusted off from your garage, and if you have it, some matching period cycle kit. Penny Farthings, Roadsters, Childrens Classics (Choppers!), Italian Classic Bling, mountain bikes, and road bikes across the decades have all been to previous rallies, all are welcome. We also look forward to owners of modern retro classics joining in.
Come along for a chance to chat and match your bikes with fellow Rally participants, compete for class medals and perhaps you’ll be lucky and win one of the overall best in Rally prizes. With plenty of time to enjoy the Oundle Vintage Festival in the morning and put your bikes on show, there is the option of rides in the afternoon.

The 2024 Rally
The Rally will be held in a courtyard off West Street Oundle and be in the heart of the Vintage Festival. Arrive for 9:00 to register, display your bike, impress the judges and compare notes with fellow participants. Whilst judges deliberate nip out for tea and cake in the festival before class medals and prizes are awarded from 11:00am. Those tackling the rides will have plenty of time to look at the festival and get lunch before leaving at 13:00 with the intention that all can be back by 15:00.
The Rally venue allows your bikes to be displayed but with controlled access and the area will have volunteer organisers present 9:00-13:00. Whilst there are measures to keep your bike safe, entry and display of your bike is at your own risk.
We will design the classes and prizes based on the bikes entering to provide plenty of opportunities for all participants.
This is a classic bike rally but classics come in many forms, from the Raliegh Small Wheel Shopper, via the Chopper to a penny farthing or a slick Colnago. Any bike older than 2010 is eligible, as are new bikes built to represent classics, for example modern penny farthings, Colnago Masters, Cambridge Light Blue Classics, Modern recreations of classic roadsters.
The 2024 Rides
Rides are a chance to enjoy taking your bike for a spin with other classic bikes and riders and have been a popular part of previous Rallys. These are social rides at your own risk on open roads, where the normal highway code applies. They are not a race, or a way marked sportive, but the routes are available to download below, and are on largely quiet easy to follow local roads.
Medium Route – For the quicker bikes or the determined
Short route – For a leisurely ride to turn the legs and wheels
Local loop – A quick round the block ride for bikes not designed for distance, or if you are short of time.
MEDIUM ROUTE
A 30 mile romp round rolling quiet countryside, to test your vintage gears with a few hills but no long climbs. Test your period lightweight be back in time for tea.
SHORT ROUTE
A 15 mile amble round the flatter roads through picturesque stone villages and following the river Nene. A classic ride without it being a challenge.
LOCAL LOOP
A handful of miles if you want to maximise your time at the Vintage Festival, or your bike was designed for fun or utility but not distance.
